I bought this Samsung galaxy a for my wife believing it would be a good quality tablet, WRONG. It is very hard to hear sound, since the speakers are mounted on the end. It makes it difficult to hear for the person using it. Also it has a very short charging cord! And, the unit is very heavy being a metal case.
I also talked to a tech...who pretty much just brushed me off.

I have had multiple problems from the beginning. . .I 'lost' google play at about a year in and so have no access to new apps, and I get pop ups all the time saying things like youtube are not supported. I loved it when I got it because I replacing my kindle 7" and was excited to have the bigger size. . .BUT. . .I still use my kindle for most things and use this sparingly.

I did not use my tablet a heck of a lot, but it was useful at times. I probably would have given it a 5 star rating, but I am locked out of it now and Samsung can't / won't help me. I never set any kind of password as I did not store any personal info on it. But apparently someone did and now I'm locked out, so essential it is a "warm brick". So-called factory reset just takes you back to sign in.

This tablet is amazing I got it for Christmas it is a big tablet very big but I have one problem I had the tablet for about a couple months but I noticed that the screen and camera had scratches and I did not do anything to it but one day I saw I tiny deep scratch I tried everything to remove the scratch on the camera and screen but nothing worked and also the back of the tablet also has scratches this made me so upset but overall this tablet is nice I updated it to android 8.1.0 it is cool and fast

This tablet serves my needs which aren't elaborate. I could use more memory but that is why there is slot for sd card. Picture quality and battery life are excellent, recently took a trip that was 6+ hours....kids watched 3 different movies and it barely made a dent in power used. I have only found one app that I use that it not compatible with too.

If you are reading an artical and move slightly the tablet will close screen and open up something elce. BUY ONLY IF YOU PLAN ON PUTTING TABLET ON A TABLE WHEN READING ANYTHING.

"you are dangerous low on space" messege appears frequently although I clean storage frequently. It doesn't saw the storage that filled up by system memory. You could do nothing with the 16 GB memory as it get filed up soon although you use a sd card.

Bought it November 2018, delivered Nov 29, 2018 & today Jan 16, 2019 it wont charge or turn on!!!! Very disappointed!! I love my Samsung smartphones, TV's & tablets...until today. I have no idea why my TabA quit working. I noticed it needed to be charged so I plugged it in. Came back to it an hour later and the screen had the battery with the lightening bolt on it. Unplugged it & tried turning it on and NOTHING happened...

This is a decent tablet, but the main criticism I have is the lack of MHL to connect to an HDMI adapter. I travel a lot and the ability to connect it to a larger screen (read: hotel room) is huge. There IS an ability to cast it to some smart TVs over wifi, but I prefer a direct connection as this is a more flexible way (read: hotel room). My older LG phone works this way, but this tablet, nope. Samsung fail. Also, the UI is a little non-intuitive in terms of navigating settings, files, etc. It just doesn't flow as well as some other android devices I've had.

I am definitely happy with my Galaxy Tab A, nice bright screen and great colors. The only cons I have are the buttons are too sensitive and the touch screen is way too glitchy. Every time I go to move it I inadvertently graze one of the buttons and either close everything or go back several pages. And the touch screen, I don't know what is going on. I am clearly touching what I want to open or click on and it doesn't do anything. Sometimes I have to tap it real hard and other times really soft or I just give up and move on. Playing games though, everything works like it should, go figure.

I have been attempting to set up and perform a few basic things on a brand new Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and giving up on it after many hours of futility. No information or even start up guide came with it. No real help on the internet but when I google "Galaxy Tab A 10.1 issues" I realize how many people are frustrated by their Sansungs. The answers they occasionally get from Samsung often don't help. Rather than wait for a catastrophe or spend a school semester trying to understand and program it, sending it right back. Never again Samsung, this is unbelievable.

On the same note, the buttons should be on the long side since its too easy to accidently press them when holding the tablet in landscape.

Tablet won't stay charged and when it reaches a certain percentage, it shuts off and unless I put it on a charger, the tablet will turn on and off, on and off. I have yet to factory reset it but I hope it works otherwise I have a bad battery. It basically has to be on and charger 24/7.

The only disappointment of this product is the time display on the lock-screen, the time display is horizontal rather than vertical. When I called Samsung support, I was told this is a result of an update. To change it, just go to Google play and download a lock-screen app. this issue has been addressed in Samsung forums, yet Samsung has not fixed this. It just looks so very unprofessional .

I like nearly everything about the Galaxy Tab A except the performance is slow and the touch screen takes a bit too much force to open applications and web pages. Also with the home button and back button on the bottom of the tablet, I find myself using it in the landscape mode because of touching the buttons causes it to return to previous page or home page. Speakers are also an issue when using the tablet in profile mode as they are on the bottom.

Me as an high school student with all this work and no time to mess around. But with the galaxy tab a I am more focused and never lose anything. I have improved my over all GPA because of the tablet and being able to use the Samsung cloud and I get everything done. I recommend this tablet to every high school student.

I returned je tablet because predictive text je spellcheck when composing emails was defective . However, je replacement is has je same problems.
1) The predictive composition does not work.
2) Spellcheck changes je words ("the", "and") to "je" . "This" becomes "Mike"!
3) Many words are underlined in red, perhaps indicating that they have not yet been learned in je dictionary.
Mike (i. e., "this") is not good.

Bright and large screen are a plus. However, searching is a pain with the poor sensitivity of the screen to your touch compared to using a mouse on a computer or a good smart phone. Once you have found your subject reading is fine but getting there is painful.

I bought this tablet a year ago and I have loved it ever since. After the Android 7.0 Nougat update, the tablet performs even better. Lots of great apps to use and features like multi-window and power saving. My only slight problem is that the predictive text and spell check don't work on my device for some reason. Great tablet with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. BEST BUDGET FRIENDLY TABLET!

I received this tablet as a gift. If I was shopping for a new tablet online I would never have bought this one. This tablet is hard to hold, because of martials it is made of. I have already dropped it on the floor one time. The WiFi connection is very slow because the tablet's antenna is not very good at receiving router signals. For example my old Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will receive WiFi at about (465mps), but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A Tablet will only receive WiFi at up to (72mps).This is a major problem when surfing the Internet, because pages tend to load slower with several images missing causing browser reload to see all of the images. With that in mind overall this tablet performs good for the price.

I bought two of these, one for me and one for the wife. Bright and very clear screen. Easy to use with many features and apps included. It connects up to the home Wi-Fi effortlessly as well as our car. Added a 32 gb micro SD card and I think I am all set for our needs.

An excellent device overall at this price point. However, it would have been very useful if the Home, Back and Overview buttons were backlit for easier viewing at night (i.e. laying bed with the lights out).
Also, the placement of the speakers is not ideal for a true stereo effect when listening to music, gaming or watching videos. Had the speakers been placed one on each end of the chassis the listening experience would have much more enjoyable.

The internal memory space is only 16 gbits. Several default apps have been installed, and no way to remove them. Soon run out of app storage, and must remove apps before installing new apps. Should provide (in settings menu) the option to format the SD card as internal memory. Need additional app storage space.
